Hurricane Beryl

Hurricane Beryl powered through the Caribbean as a major hurricane, gaining strength and hitting Grenada and St. Vincent and the Grenadines on July 1 before taking aim at Jamaica as a Category 4 storm with sustained winds up to 145 mph and a dangerous storm surge. Americares is on the front lines, deploying a response team to Jamaica to support the health needs of survivors throughout the region. Americares has also reached out to partner organizations in St. Lucia and Dominica to offer assistance and is prepared to deliver essential medicines, relief supplies, and emergency funding to restore vital health services in the hardest hit communities.
