Americares is responding to Tropical Cyclone Enteng (also known as Typhoon Yagi), which brought heavy rain and winds to the eastern Philippines on Sept.2, topping dams and displacing more 40,000 people; 10 people are confirmed dead. Americares team in the Philippines plans to distribute medical equipment, including kits for maternal and newborn care and hygiene kits, to rural health clinics in Eastern Samar that were heavily flooded. The team also plans to send a mobile health unit to the region for three days, with medical staff and supplies to provide emergency care to storm survivors and provide water filtration and treatment equipment to communities in nearby Rizal Province.
