Kitting for Ukraine

Join Americares on Wednesday, June 8, at 5:30 p.m. ET as we assemble personal care kits for refugees from Ukraine.  

Americares will ship the kits to Poland for distribution to refugees as part of Americares response to the Ukraine crisis. Each kit will contain essentials for daily personal care.

Americares Emergency Response Teams on the ground in Poland are meeting health needs and coordinating shipments of medicine and supplies for people caught in the Ukraine crisis. More than 6.5 million people have fled Ukraine since the invasion; more than half have crossed into Poland where the Americares Ukraine Response Team is based. Americares has already shipped more than 110 tons of medicine and relief supplies to Ukraine valued at over $15 million and more shipments are planned. Americares is also supporting dozens of organizations in Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Ukraine providing services to people seeking safety during this crisis.

Upon arrival, please drive along the right side of the main building to the back of the complex where you will find the event space. Americares representatives will be on site to direct you. Volunteers must be 12 years of age or older. 

COVID-19 Protocols:

Proof of vaccination, including at least one booster dose, is required prior to or on the day of the event. 

Masks are encouraged, but not required, as the event will be outside. Please maintain physical distancing when possible. 

Children 12 years or older must be fully vaccinated with two doses of the Pfizer COVID vaccine and a third dose if eligible. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Please consider the following symptom screening questions prior to attending the event: 

1. Have you felt unwell or had any of the following symptoms in the past 48 hours? (Symptoms: Fever (100.4 or greater), chills, sore throat, congestion, body aches, cough, shortness of breath, loss of taste, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea.)
2. Do you have any reason to believe you have recently been exposed to or acquired the COVID-19 infection? 
3. Have you tested positive for COVID-19 within the past 10 days?
