AmeriCares Celebrates Its Volunteers

  • April 18, 2010

National Volunteer Week: April 18-24

“Celebrating People in Action” is the theme of this year’s National Volunteer Week. Commemorated April 18-24th this year, it is an appropriate time to pause and honor the individuals who volunteer their time and talents to serve their communities, whether close to home or around the globe.

AmeriCares volunteers are a meaningful part of our team and are important to our success. Each year hundreds of volunteers work in various capacities in one of our three Free Health Clinics or in our headquarters, contributing their time and talent to our programs.

In addition, this year dozens of volunteers supported our Haiti earthquake relief efforts by providing additional support in our warehouse, assisting in the packing and shipment of our relief supplies and on our phones, receiving and facilitating donor calls.

We would like to extend our appreciation and gratitude to each individual who has made a difference in the communities that we serve and on the impact that AmeriCares has around the globe.

We are very fortunate to have a dedicated network of committed individuals, who connect with our mission through volunteerism.
