6 NGOs from across India win the finale of 7th Spirit of Humanity Awards 2016

  • Yesterday evening, the seventh edition of the Spirit of Humanity felicitated 6 Best NGOs from across India
  • The event witnessed 26 NGOs finalists from over 300 entries, including four finalists from Maharashtra
  • Spirit of Humanity Awards is an initiative by Americares to identify and honor excellence by NGOs working for the underprivileged, especially in the healthcare sector
  • This year, impact sectors included – Child care, Disability, Education, Health, Livelihood and Women empowerment

Mumbai, September 13, 2016 —  Spirit of Humanity, an initiative by Americares, recognized and rewarded 6 NGOs in varied impact sectors in its finale held on September 12, 2016 at J W Marriott Mumbai Sahar.  The participating organizations went through three rigorous levels of shortlisting and the winners were announced in a grand award ceremony in the evening.

The winners of each of the award categories are:

Spirit of Humanity is a national level platform for collaboration, capacity building and recognition within the social sector in India. The finale of The 7th Spirit of Humanity brought together not-for-profit organizations, academia, government authorities, thought leaders and corporations for sustained engagement and cross learning.

Apart from the NGO felicitations, the event celebrated the completion of 10 years of Americares in India. It also served as a platform for unveiling the new visual identity of Americares- a bold, modern and global logo which illustrates that humanity is at the heart of everything the organization does. 

The 7th Spirit of Humanity was organized in partnership with Abbott, Bharat Serums and Vaccines, The Hans Foundation, JW Marriott, SPJIMR, KPMG, NIC Interactive and Hexacraft.

The winners of the award received a prize amount, trophy and certificate of excellence from the esteemed organizers. They also received opportunities to share their work and meet numerous CSR heads.
