Horizon Therapeutics and Americares forged an exciting new partnership in 2017. Together, we are working to advocate for greater collaboration between the corporate and nonprofit sectors and improve the health of people affected by poverty and disaster—here at home and around the globe.
Horizon Therapeutics is a key supporter of Americares emergency response work and U.S. health care safety net strengthening programs that provide increased access to health care to individuals living in or near poverty. By helping us to drive health equity and access and strengthening health systems across the country, Horizon is investing in the long-term health and well-being of millions of people.
As the lead sponsor for the 2017 Global Health and Development Symposium, Horizon used its leadership platform to advocate for greater integration of philanthropic and humanitarian principals into business models, partnering with Americares to spread the message. Also in 2017, Horizon sponsored Americares Airlift Benefit and members of their staff joined Americares in visiting program sites in Guatemala.
Horizon Therapeutics is an Americares Emergency Response Partner, providing key resources that allow us to maintain a response platform of medicines, supplies and people—ready to respond in a moment’s notice. Americares responds to an average of 30 natural disasters and humanitarian crises worldwide each year, establishes long-term recovery projects and brings disaster preparedness programs to vulnerable communities. In addition to its ongoing support as an AERP membership, Horizon also contributed to Americares Hurricane Harvey response in Texas.
