Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer

Americares Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer Bruce Pankey oversees all aspects of the health-focused relief and development organization’s financial management, including planning, budgeting, forecasting, procurement, treasury, investments, accounting, grants and financial reporting.

One of the world’s leading nonprofit providers of donated medicine and medical supplies, Americares distributes over $1 billion in medicine and supplies to an average of 85 countries each year.

Pankey has more than 25 years of management and leadership experience, including extensive experience in global humanitarian and development work.

Prior to joining Americares in 2024, he served as chief finance and administration officer for Counterpart International, a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit that works overseas to support food systems, support sustainable ecosystems and empowers women to serve in leadership roles.

He also previously served as chief financial officer for several other nonprofit organizations in the humanitarian sector, including CRDF Global, Pact and Catholic Charities USA. Pankey also spent 13 years in higher education, including 10 years on the finance team at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C.

Pankey earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Olivet Nazarene University in Illinois and a Master of Business Administration from Averett University in Virginia.
