Director, Fred Weisman Americares Free Clinic of Bridgeport
As director of the Fred Weisman Americares Free Clinic of Bridgeport, Jennifer DaSilva oversees the day-to-day operations of the clinic serving low-income, uninsured patients in the greater Bridgeport area.
DaSilva, a registered nurse, is responsible for a team of staff and volunteer medical professionals who ensure patients receive quality comprehensive care including exams, medications, diagnostic services and laboratory work at no cost. Americares operates the largest free clinic network in the state, serving 3,000 low-income, uninsured Fairfield County residents annually.
A health care professional with nearly 15 years of experience, DaSilva previously worked as a specialty team coordinator and registered nurse for Bridgeport Hospital. She also served as an emergency travel nurse for hospitals in Connecticut and New York. Prior to that, she worked as a public health nurse for the city of Bridgeport where she provided preventative health care, home health care and clinical services for patients. DaSilva is fluent in Spanish and earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Fairfield University.
